When to choose JPEG, PNG or WebP
JPEG often suits photographs; PNG suits graphics and transparency; WebP often offers smaller files with transparency support. Compare at the intended display size and keep the original.
These examples are educational. Check your actual requirements and verify important outputs before use.
Choose the target size
Start from the destination: a website thumbnail, a document or a profile image may need different dimensions and file sizes.
Preserve proportions
Lock the aspect ratio unless you intentionally need to crop. Stretching changes the appearance of faces, logos and text.
Verify the result
Compare the exported image at its intended display size. Keep the original file until you are satisfied with the result.
